Driedoring (Rhigozum trichotomum)

This plant is rigid and woody, 1 to 2 m tall and 0.5-1.2m in diameter. The bark is grey to black. The stems terminate in typical 3 spines. The Driedoring is unpalatable, but the pods and flowers can be grazed. It displaces more valuable plants and sometimes forms impenetrable thickets. The Williston area withs its hills and plains and sandy soils forms a good habitat for this plat.
